Gordon Poster
Sherman’s is proud to have the fine culinary talents of General Manager and Director of Catering Gordon Poster. Chef Poster’s achievements include: American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef, the 1992 Chef of the Coachella Valley, past member of Society Toque Blanche, and the recipient of many Culinary Awards from Southern California Culinary Art Salon’s.
As part of Gordon’s history, he was Chef de Cuisine at the world famous “Sardine Factory” restaurant in Monterey California, where he held private affairs for Whitehouse Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, Mayor Clint Eastwood, The State Supreme Court, Wine Master Robert Mondavi and Baron Rothchild for the Opus introduction dinner. Moving to the desert 1988 as Chef at the Canyon Country Club of Palm Springs he has served many dignitaries such as the Late President Gerald Ford, Mr. Bob Hope and Mr. Frank Sinatra.
Wayne Brooks
Chef Wayne Brooks is an American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef, the 1991 Chef of the Coachella Valley, one of only a few chefs in the valley to compete in the 1992 International Culinary Olympics in Frankfurt Germany where he received a Bronze medal.
Chef Brooks has been the recipient of many other Culinary Awards from Culinary Art Salon’s, from across the country. Wayne has also acted as chef for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Golf Event at Indian Wells Country club and Indian Palms country Club. Chef Brooks has owned and operated his own restaurant, catering company and a wholesale cheesecake manufacturing company. He has worked in the Coachella Valley since he moved here from the Midwest in 1978 and has held positions from executive chef to food and beverage manager at many of the best hotels and restaurants in the valley. Chef Brooks has devoted his career to preparing meals that both delight and intrigue the pallet. He has cooked for past presidents, movie stars and other notable dignitaries.
